In light of how COVID-19 is ravaging the community, Love’s Promise has been focused on increasing the vaccination rates among the most vulnerable, in particular communities of color that are lagging behind their White counterparts. We want to increase our information sessions with our trusted partners through Atrium Health, Novant Health, and Mecklenburg County Public Health in an effort to dispel myths in populations that have a strong mistrust in government for a myriad of reasons to include cultural and historical.
Most recently, Love’s Promise has been able to assist many of our residents with information related to COVID-19 relief programs at the local, state and federal levels. The programs have provided many of our disadvantaged residents experiencing additional hardships with access to rent subsidies, housing opportunities, deferments on utility bills, health care ( COVID testing and vaccinations), educational opportunities, workforce development and small business support.
